Born in Shoreditch London, Michelle is a fine art mixed media artist, voice artist and presenter.
At the age of 20, during a break whilst studying English & Sociology,
she gravitated to the Art class and all her childhood passion for colour and design came to the surface. She spoke with the Art tutor, who encouraged her to join the class immediately, taking the A Level examination in a weeks time. Michelle sat the examination, having not sat the O Level and was awarded a grade 'A'.
This was the catalyst that spurred Michelle on to encourage, enable and hopefully inspire people to return to study, gain confidence and perhaps gain qualifications that can open doors in many respects. Whether that be personal well being or professional.
Always seeking new experiences, at various stages of her working life, Michelle has been a teacher, a travel rep, a radio presenter, a singer in a pop band, presented on TV (including Top of the Pops) and worked as a US music importer. Michelle also took on the challenging role of PA to the keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts (Prof Brendan Neiland RA) and relished every moment that she could sit with the students and enjoy life drawing in the same hallowed halls as Blake and Newton.
Indeed, she was given the opportunity to exhibit her figurative work at the Royal Academy, in an exhibition opened by Sir Peter Blake. Michelle continues to appreciate many longstanding friendships with Royal Academicians, staff and ex students at the RA Art school but chose to return to her career in the media.
To this day, Michelle continues to present and voice corporate TV programs and is the voice on a number of radio shows and commercials. Her passion though, is Art.
Michelle loves graphite for its portability and efficacy. She says she is never alone for long with a sketch pad and pencil and Michelle should know. She has visited in excess of 35 countries and 48 American states. Much of the time traveling solo.
''Drawing an image can bypass any language, intellect, sexual, religious or political difference.'' Michelle believes, any creative endeavour can bring people together and offer relief to the lonely or isolated and be paramount in the treatment of many conditions, including depression.
Michelle is now a full time professional portrait artist, presenter, voice over artist and proud mum. She divides her time between her home in the East of England and traveling to London seeking inspiration for her paintings (although she is quick to point out that her international travels are only on hold temporarily).
Michelle has artwork in private and public collections around the world, and of course you can see some of her work on the “Michelle's Art” page. For more information, voice over or presenting work, or art commission please email her directly via the link in the top right of this page.
